I found I had a lot of fruit last week which, when you're trying to lose weight, you should limit to just berries and even not very many of those. I also have a banana when my muscles hurt because I've had messed up Potassium/Sodium levels in the past so I try to stay on top of that. But I usually only have one when I have an intense work out coming up. On the weekend I gave in to some bread products, some ice-cream, and fondue yumminess with some wine. I thought running the 5k might counter all this indulgence just a bit. "Ha Ha!" said my body to myself.
So the back slide I believe is because I fudged too often. Funny how it all adds up and you don't notice it unless you write it all down! Who knew extra fruit, a drumstick (ice-cream), a hot dog bun (had a hot dog in it, which usually I'd just eat the meat but the bun was so squishy and warm...), piece of pizza, and another serving of ice cream would wreck you that bad? Oh and the fondue, but I had planned on that...
Wish I could blame this on inflammation from running, but based on the food diary, I'd say it's because I was eating like a fatty.
Last week's results:
Weight: 150 lbs UP 2 lbs, GOAL: 7 lbs less (I wasn't going to let this number bother me because it was possible I had built muscle from working out more, then I saw the inches results and I knew- nope, ya just got fat).
Waist: 29.5" UP 0.5", GOAL: 1.5" less
Hips: 37.5" UP 1", GOAL: 2.5" less
Butt: 41" MOSTLY the SAME, GOAL: 1" less
Thigh: 24" MOSTLY the SAME, GOAL: 1" less
Arm 12" SAME
I've really got to win it these next 23 days because I have sinus and reconstructive surgery on 27 March so I'll be down for 3-4 weeks post op. Definitely will have to be a good girl in the kitchen since the activity level will be non-existent.
So I have just over 3 weeks to shape up. Three weeks isn't hard. The first week you're pumped about starting fresh and being good. A few days after that you're already half way through the 3 weeks. Then a few more days after the half way point you only have one more week to go, so it's easy! If I go all Paleo between now and Easter, I'll have a few indulgences Easter weekend. My only planned treat is on St Patrick's day- a Guinness brownie. Other than that I'm sticking to the plan. I'm gonna try to decrease sugars as well. Only berries once a day and honey in my 1-2 cups of coffee (and banana as needed). Will try to hold off on making Paleo treats with dark chocolate or more honey. Some of the dinner recipes I do have honey or maple syrup but I'm ok with that.
Been toying with the idea of two-a-days a few times a week. Mostly because the Y has a new Barre class which sounds fun and diff, but it's either on Tue when I do my Tone to Stone (weights) or Wed when I want to try to do my Boot Camp class at Fit Body if I can't go Fridays that week. And then Fit Body also sends via email more Boot Camp workouts to do during the week too. Still thinking about adding those in on days I already work out. Don't want to send my immune system into a tail spin with too much being required of my body. But I've been feeling pretty good the past few weeks (thanks Iodoral!!) so maybe I'll try it once and see how I feel the next day.
Hopefully next week is a better post. I know we'll be able to tell by how the Food Diaries look! Good luck, self!
